Distributor Help... I'm lazy

1953 F100 Flathead 8....

The distributor vacuum advance has a threaded hole.

Threads appear to be 3/8 x 20.

NOBODY has anything that will fit that to attach a vacuum hose to.

I have a 3/8 x 20 BOLT that screw's right in. ALL the suppliers around only have pipe thread stuff.

I"m thinking I could:
1) Re-Tap the distributor (Don't want to do this.)
2) Drill a hole in the BOLT I have and insert a tube to attache hose to...
3) Re-thread (die) the pipe thread barb piece that is 'close" to fitting...

ANY THOUGHTS or source suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
(No pun intended.)

I made one using 3/16 brake line and a 3/16 double flare fitting. After I double flared the end I slid a small oring over the tube and down to the double flare then slid the double flare fitting on the tube and screwed it onto the vac advance leaving about 2 inches of tubing sticking out the end. this is so a vac hose can hook onto it.

I think that the fitting is 3/8"-BSPP, British Standard Parallel Pipe (ie, not a tapered thread). It is used on lots of instrument-type stuff, and is actually 19 threads per inch, so your 3/8" bolt probably gets pretty hard to turn after it's in there a ways? I think I have the fitting and the tubing still in my old dizzy, let me know if you are truly stymied.

I'd re-tap it for NPT, just grease the tap so the shavings stick to it.

Edit -- I do have one, but it isn't pretty! Here's what it looks like. The tubing is upset-swedged at the end, and the nut seats on the conical surface. It is just about 3/8"-diameter, and does appear to be 20 TPI, straight threads (not tapered).

You can also go to a u pull it or a auto salvage yard near you and pull one off of a 60's car or truck. That should have the right size fitting and tubing
