I've seen small backhoes on the back of gas company (iirc) trucks--about the size of a Bobcat hoe.

Ya they probably don't care about the truck at all, as long as it gets the backhoe to where it needs to be they don't worry about it.

Probably dont get cared for because they never get used. And when they are used they probably cant quite do the job right.

Doesnt seem very practical.

I have used them what a PITA dig 12 feet stop pull up the out riggers get in the truck cab and pull it forward 12 feet hoping you did no over estimate it or else you would have to back the truck up to reach the area you need. For there time they were okay but very very low on power.
