Electronic brake problems
I have a 2006 F-350 and have a brake problem. When I mash the brakes I get a warning saying trailer is not connected but i can release the brake and mash them again it usually works correctly. I have checked all the trailer wires and can't find anything wrong. I may be missing something though. If I slide the brake controller button over it never shows the warning. Any suggestions about this.

I was having the same problem with my 2011 F250. I had all the lights including turn signals. I think the added load of the brakes coming on was causing higher resistance causing the disconnect message. Try using contact cleaner on both the male and female connectors. Then apply dielectric grease and plug and unplug the trailer several times. This solved the problem for me. It seems that these are quite sensitive to poor quality contacts and if you don't keep them very clean the problems start up.
