Question for NumberDummy

Been trying to Private message you but having all sorts of problems....

I have an export model F100, RHD and am trying to confirm the exact year. Only number I can find stamped is on the firewall on the passenger side UDSXD108600<

Does this mean anything or do I need to keep looking? I can't seem to find and other number stamped anywhere?

Thanks

Sorry, cannot decode that number. It's different from what US/Canada used.

The VIN is located on the Warranty Plate, could be located on the left (right?) door below the latch, or on the inside of the glovebox door, but an export VIN may be different than US/Canada.

What engine does it have?

FYI: New members need 25 posts before they can access some FTE features.

Ok thanks, the engine is an Australian Cleveland, so no good there unfortunatly.

I was always of the belief it was a 62, (some old paperwork had 62 on it) but nothing is stamped on it anywhere. Thats the only number I have been able to find.

I'll recheck on the frame rail but I cant see anything.

Do you know if the canadian versions were stamped in the same spot or somewhere else?

Sample 1961/66 Canadian VIN: 4991014L-123456-A

Sample 1961/66 US VIN: F10CR123456.

Dunno what the laws were inre to export vehicles, if a hidden VIN is stamped on the frame rail or not.

FTE has an international chapter, suggest you ask this question there. There are quite a few 'down under' members, in fact one of the FTE administrators (IB Adrian) formerly worked for FoMoCo in Australia.

Have an pics? If so, email them to me: sylhall@aol.com

Sorry what did you want pics of the number in the firewall or something else?

I've spent 2 hours underneath it today looking in the usual spot on the framerail. No success unfortuntely, but I haven't given up yet!

US trucks of this vintage: The VIN is stamped on the topside of the right (passenger) side frame rail, either in front of, or partially under the cab.

On some, the VIN is stamped on the 2WD's engine crossmember, directly under the harmonic balancer.

40+ years of rust and road grime will make the hidden VIN (if there is one on an export) hard to find.

I would like to see pics of the truck to attempt to ID the year.

ok, I just sent through a few pics of the number I was referring to.

I can send you a few pics, but it has bits of all models which makes it tough. 66 bed, 65 grille and upper valance and cleveland v8 but straight axle. So it makes it hard to pinpoint!

Straight axle w/leaf front springs: 1961/64. 1965 and later (2WD) have Twin-I-Beam front suspension with coil springs.

The Styleside bed is the same: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD // If anodized aluminum mouldings are present, 1964's have thin mouldings with red painted inserts.

1965/66's use different mouldings, are wider and have a rib in them without any paint.

EDIT: Pics sent = The V8 emblem on the hood is 1965/66, the hood side emblem is 1963/64. This is the 1964/66 Styleside bed I alluded to above.

The Custom Cab door handle plates were first offered in 1963. If factory installed, there were no side mouldings installed.
