after a while of babying my tranny in the 96 i finally put it in the shop for a rebuild, went in and pulled it apart yesterday (buddys doing it for me) well od and 3rd were perfect in it, second the friction materiel on the clutches were pretty well worn,,,, in first? they were slicker than a well oiled ****-stars ***! so throwinf a complete rebuild at it including new torque converter, shift kit and a large tranny cooler up in front the radiator to keep it all cool
i burnt it back on Christmas eve night snatching on a BURIED 2500HD that was sideways up in the path and neither rear tire was visible until you were standing over it!
but ive limped it this long with the help of lucas oil transmission 'repair'
Got the Truck back today master rebuild, Shift kit New converter (small stall was the same as a stock one money wise) and a Hayden aftermarket trans cooler and she runs like a champ again!
Good, now get your 79 back together and come up Memorial Day weekend with Critters to race!
Its a '77' BUT i don't see that happening seeing as the bank account is very well drained now lol plus the blocks still setting on critters garage floor with my pistons boxed up next to it
