fuel supply problem
i have a 1987 ford f250 4x4 with a 460 cid 4bbl it was running and slowly stared to die over several days. it got hard to start and finally wont start. i have checked the ignition syst and it has good spark. i have cleaned the carb(holly 4 bbl) and it seems ok. i found that no fuel was getting to the carb. i replaced the mechanical pump and installed an inline fuel filter. i still have no fuel to the carb!!. this truck has 2 tanks and a switching valve. i can pour fuel into the float bowl and it will run for a short time. however the fuel filter will only fill about 1/4 the way and the engine dies. place help me?!?! i have no manuals to check and when i did inspect for an electric pump and did not see one but???. thanks for any sugestions you may have.

Sounds like your in-take fuel pumps are gone??
there are electronic lift pumps in each of your tanks..
if your not getting fuel to ur inline fuel pump then that is probably your problem..

thanks for your response congo. but i have fixed the problem. the screen in the fuel inlet of the carb had been smashed down in the housing and had blocked off the fuel inlet from the line. i removed the bronse filter and the screen and now it runs fine. this hit me at 1:30am this morning. P.S. there are no electric pumps on this (turd-errr...)truck.
