I know trying to put a price on another mans stuff is hard to do. With life's changes come new goals. I have decided to purchase a house and will not have the money for my projects. I am wanting to sell either both trucks as a deal or separate. I also know nothing is worth anything till u find a buyer. If you guys could help give me an idea as to where to start that would be great. What I have....
1980 F100 302 with a T18 4spd 2wd. The truck use to run great. Now it'll run for 30 seconds cold then dies and will not start back up. I've tried just about everything.
1986 F150 302 4spd 4wd. Truck starts right up and moves under own power, Just has a rod knock and no brakes. Has a hole in the floor board.
Both trucks need the beds rebuilt. I feel you could combine both to make a decent driver. Any help or ideas would be great. I also might throw in all the extras I have like 2 rear axles ect just to get some $ and room. Taking them to the scrapper is not an option. I believe these trucks can be saved. both have titles. Thanks for any help.
Honestly, not much. I'd lay down between $500-$600 per on those trucks and use them for parts. Did you have that '86 up on CL? For some reason the pic looks familiar...
Before you sell something that's not worth much of anything for a few dollars, think of how easy these trucks are to work on and how much $$ they will save you every year you drive them. Certainly not going to depreciate on ya..haha.
Have owned my 80 F150 now since 1988 and have over 450k miles on it. Yeah, the 300 is getting really tired, but got a 300 and C6 out of an 81 F250 camper for $300 with 60k on it. It was parked most of them time before the guy died that lived in it, so did not want camper, only well loved engine and tranny =)
I contrast this with my wife's 01 4x4 7.3 Excursion and the tranny scare it gave me - quotes were over $3k just for the transmission. I'll keep my old F150, tyvm.
Diesel_Brad... I wish that scrap was that high here. I'll have to look into that because dad's got some junk cars he wants gone. $$$
frankyzee.... I understand where your going with your point. My only thing is the value of these trucks would be good cash to have for helping with the house purchase. It's harder to part with them because I've wanted a flare side for ever of this body style.
Well I guess I'll just see what I can get for them and go from there. Worse case they sit in the yard and I work on them when time and $ permits. Thank you for the input guys.
83 - can definitely understand the house part. Hard to keep vehicles if one doesn't have a place to put them! Good luck on your house hunting and hope it works out for ya.
