Transmission problem HELP!!!

I have a 1989 F150 with a C6 tranny in it. when i run on the highway or don't do alot of stop and go it shifts fine, But when I run in traffic it has issues shifting from 2-3 after it gets hot it was fine all winter but today here in Minnesota it was 85 and it jutlst started doing it. Can anybody help me figure this out so I don't screw it up. I checked fluid levels and color and they are perfect I'm guessing a clutch pack but idk i'm hoping it just needs band adjustment? Or since it has to do with temp would a bigger tranny cooler and or deeper pan help or even solve it I am not a pro mechanic but if someone can help me I would appreciate it thanks.

Not an expert but there are a few things you could check. Check that the kickdown rod is properly adjusted and free to move. Check the condition of the vacuum pipe. Look closely at the rubber vacuum pipes both at the trans end and the engine end, if bad replace them. Check the hard vacuum line for rust pin holes and kinked/pinched. Pull the rubber pipe off of the vacuum modualtor at the trans and look for any signs of trans fluid in it, if any found replace the modulator. Finally you could check the band adjustment. Loosen the lock nut, torque the adjuster to 10ft.lbs. and then back it off exactly one and a half turns, hold the adjuster and tighten the locknut.
