accelerator stops working

accelerator stops working

yesterday my trucks accelerator stopped working and would not come back until i i restarted my truck but to do so i had to turn the key to acc back to start 4 times then it would start. today in the middle of the road my accelerator stopped working again so i pulled off to try and restart my truck but now it wont start i pulled my secondary filter and i have plenty of fuel getting there my fuel pump doesnt sound like it is comin on but i can feel it pumping. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

I believe the pedal is electronic so you might want to make sure your battery voltage is where it should be.. if you have a voltage problem it could make all kids of things not work right.,,, just a guess

Sounds like you might have some wire chafing going on.if you pull the top of the sec.filter off you should have lots of fuel pumping everywhere.what year is your truck?.

hey guys sorry it took so long to get back on here i have a 2005 f250 fx4. I was looking at my fuel pump cause like you said the sec filter did have alot of fuel going everywhere so I disconnected all my plugs on it and found some sand in one of them and now it works like a champ. Thank you guys for all your help. Another thing does anyone know of any quick and cheap tricks to prevent stuff from getting inside the plugs when i go to the beach specially the fuel pump ones since its on the frame?
