I posted a few weeks back about my possible failing clutch. Thanks for the help! Since I had never bled the clutch line, I started with that-did it a few weeks ago. It seemed to have helped but I did not do any priming/pumping (as stated in Haynes) when I bled the clutch;I just ran about 11 oz. through the system. I had plenty of white stuff but there was very little if any toward the end. The clutch is better/firmer but still not great and still could very well be the slave or something. Anyway, My question is:
Would it be worth to bleed it again or even maybe with some synthetic brake fluid? or do it and pump the clutch this time to force more out?
I am hessitant doing much more, hearing of the trouble people have had with air in the system.
it is a PIA to bleed but it can be done fairly easily if you are willing to work a little in the cab. I posted in the past about how to get the air out of the system by taking the master cyl apart in the cab. Not totally but just enought to let the air out. I think its in the sticky section, not sure.
With that said it could be a problem with the master or slave or both. A good bleed will help but if problems persist you may have to do the others. I ave replaced 2 masters and 2 slaves in 300000 miles, so if you do 1 do both.
