40x15.5

Are or have any of you guys ran 40x15.5 on an 8" lift? I know I can clear 40x13.5 but I like a wide foot print. I know 38" is supposed to be the max tire on an 8" lift but in order to run this big of tire what do you think it would take? I'll be needing tires soon and my 36" just look ridiculous. I don't really want to cut into the fenders but if I have to I will. Thanks

Seen it done, but it is going to rub. You will need to trim the bumper back, possibly shim it forward. Then trim up the steel at the back of the fender. If someone doesn't chim in you might want to do some research on the back spacing.

It looks great, but if you are an offroading guy, it is probably not going to work for you.

A 10" lift is better, but even on my 12" lift with my OEM fender flares, I can easily rub my 40's pulling into a parking lot hard.

Oh and you will notice a huge difference in power going from 36's to 40's... LOL

To even go into overdrive I had to be going like 70 something... so you might want to think about gears.
