Hello

I am transplanting a 302 from a 1991 Ford Mustang, into a 1983 F100. I am switching from fuel injection to carbed. Is there anyway that I can make the stock distributor work in the new truck with an MSD 6a ignition?

If there is no way to make the stock one work, will any brand distributor made for a 302 work with my motor with roller cam?

Thanks,

CR

Here's a wiring diagram

http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/pdf18.pdf

Here's some more info. Look down the middle of the page. They have one with a harness and one without for a Ford TFI

Go here

and click on instruction download.

Why are you deleting the system that really makes this swap worth the effort? Going to EFI is the best thing I've ever done to my truck - I'll never touch another carbed engine. Check out the "83 Bronco" album in my signature link.

Mainly because I am unsure about the wiring part of the deal.
Also because of needing a different gas tank and fuel lines to accomodate the return system of the efi. Honestly, I would love to be able to keep the fuel injection.

I figure it would cost me about the same amount of money either way.

I figured the carbed setup would net me more HP and torque.

I checked with a guy that modifies the stock harness for use in other vehicles. He wants like $450 to do the mod on my harness, or like $650 for a complete new one.

I just figured that the carbed setup would be easier.

I just need help on fitting the efi into the F100.

Steve, do you know of any articles, or websites that cover such a conversion?

Thanks Steve, and Franklin
