Question US isolation

Ive been involved in several discussions at work with a....lot of people ( conservative and liberal ) who have the un-realistic idea we should just pull out of all countries, stop all aid and only worry about ourselves. It sounds great but what I cant get these people to understand is that this will only lead to the ultimate destruction of this country. By isolating ourselves, this would allow people like Saddam to prosper and build huge armies which he and others like him would certainly use against us.

Just my simple opinion. Any thoughts?

i agree and disagree. pulling our money out of other countries around the world would cripple them and much like saddam, they couldnt afford to build armies. by the same token, its in our best interest to buy the things they make because the labor costs are low and therefore we have more money in our wallets.

its also in our best interests to buy things made in America because it puts US to work, but the prices are higher. its all about priorities and pocketbooks. of course we all want to buy American products but can we afford it? not only that but how many "American" products are REALLY American?

we had a world where Americans bought American products.......after WWII that all changed, we wanted British cars and foods that our soldiers tasted in far-off lands.

we are a consumer based culture. we're also a budget minded culture. if we can get it and get it cheaper than what the other guy is asking, we'll take it.

US isolation

If we pulled our money and interests out of the rest of the world, the world would collapse into the void. So all of these people that think America is dominating the world are right; most Western economies DEPEND upon American purchase of their exports and the American companies that do business in their countries. Not to mention all of the economic aid and food exports we send and trade to these countries.
Pull the dollar out of the World Economy, and there is no World Economy. It would screw everybody in the world, including ourselves.
That's why I think it's funny how much anti-American sentiment there is in Europe. EUROPE NEEDS AMERICA. Just like we need them, economically speaking. So they can hate us all they want...

I would not give money to anyone. If they need food, the food should be prepared (not raw grain) into TV dinners or MRE's or whatever with the USA flag all over the package.

The person getting the nourishment should know what country gave them a meal.

All medications should have the flag on needles, special shaped red, white and blue pills, shirts, pants, blankets, etc.

Many people like Saddam are taking credit when the credit should go to the American worker.

The military used to pay all the servicemen in $2.00 bills to let the snotty communities know where all the money is coming from. I liked that.
