storage tips

when i get my flathead back from being pressure tested. how should i store my motor rods oil pump and any of the stuff that could be reused when i go to build it back? i dont want to make anything rust that doesnt need to. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you have the deck magnaflux'd? Any cracks? I'm curious how they will pressure test it. Would have to have the heads on for sure.

my apologies. yes magnafluxing it. i am just wondering if the block is good how should i store these parts for a few months.

So it isn't freshly machined? As long as you wipe it down good with an oily rag, on all machined surfaces, you should be OK for a couple months. You can have the block "bagged" at the machine shop. They usually give you back a block in one after machining. It's a heavy plastic bag, sealed and usually with some of those dessicant bags thrown in. As long as it won't be where there could be condensation inside the bag, you'll be OK.
