Just wanted to say thanks for some info you posted in an old thread about gas tank sending units. My float sank and I was not finding anything at the parts houses so I did a search for old threads and found your post about Ford still offering the float and the part number. My local Ford dealer had one in stock so I am back up and running. Thanks again.

COAZ-9202-B (replaced COAZ-9202-A & B7A-9202-A).. Fuel Tank Sending Unit Float / Available from Ford.

MSRP: $14.49 // FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price: $10.43 / PartsGuyEd: Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA

Applications: ALL 1957/79 Passenger Cars & Trucks, 1961/79 Econolines & 1966/79 Bronco's.

Ford just raised the price again. This is..at least, the 3rd time they've done this since 11/2006. Since I've typed this same jazz a gazillion times here on FTE, older posts prolly have different prices.

Judging by the price these are going for on eBay, I'm guessing they have discontinued these and depleted stock?

Ford always jacked the price of their parts they discontinued to the moon and beyond, for whatever reason never made sense to me. There's no rocket science behind a brass float and the repro version will serve fine.

Can you try some light soldering on your float?

Not sure if you realized, but this thread is over ten years old. I'm not sure Number Dummy is even still with us because i haven't seen him chime in on a post in quite some time

@52 Merc Yep, I'm sure most would agree with you. I may have no choice but to use aftermarket occasionally, but I ALWAYS try to find factory and NOS first. I learned long ago that it doesn't have to be "rocket science" for the aftermarket to screw it up. Thanks for the link.

@jzjames Nope, this one is too far gone for solder. Thanks anyhow.

@DirtyFerd Yeah, I did notice that it was an old post but thought it worth a shot. Never know when he might come in. Also others that might can help. But thanks for the heads up.

Try calling the Ford Parts Department of a local Ford Dealer. It may not be discontinued. Even if it is, They may still be able to get it.
