Engine Missing

X started missing the other day, however, it did not kick the check engine light on, thought it was a coil pack, no codes came up when we scanned it. Put new plugs and boots on, ran great for 2 days and then started back up missing again. sputters alot when taking off, smoothes out for a min or two and then goes back into missing again. Any thoughts? Its a 2000 w/5.4l

Had a similar issue with my 5.4 F-150. Turned out to be in the EGR assembly. Probably a sensor, but I haven't gotten around to swapping it yet.

JUst got off the phone with my mechanic, he is thinking that same thought since it is not kicking the light on

Engine missing? Better start looking for it!!

My 2004 with a 5.4 was missing pretty bad and I thought the trans was slipping. It ended up being a bad COP and the OSS on the trans. extension housing.
