Hey guys bought my 07 ford 6.0 3 weeks ago and my my ECT is on average about 176 (thats average), ive seen 194 one time but my oil temp is normal about the highest ive seen that is 200 or so, The temps are off by 20 degrees or so but the oil cooler isnt a "high" temp.
Average ECT- 176
Average EOT- 200
Is that a thermostat malfunction or dreaded EGR cooler?
Im going to do the flush and change the thermostat within the month as well, any advice?
ALSO- im running an edge juice

my coolant is always 190-195, oil within 8 degrees , looks like your thermostat is opening too soon.. also prepare for new head gaskets and arp's with the tuner..

Ya ive been reading about the head gaskets but i only run it on stock or number 1; what are the options as far as gauges go?
Or is it ok to run the tuner but just not on max and stuff like that?
i bought my truck new in 04, had a diablo tuner on the lowest setting for a couple of years, never really ran the truck real hard and did not tow with tuner, first egr cooler popped at 36k.quit using the tuner....they did not replace the oil cooler then, i think this was before that was the rule.. then when my fan kept coming on a lot they replaced the oil cooler 3 years later at 45k... then when my truck was out of warranty 2nd egr cooler popped at 55k, so i deleted it and replaced the oil cooler.. truck now has 63k and i have found a ford mechanic that will replace my head gaskets and bolts for a lot less than the dealer and my truck has small signs of puking so i am going to go ahead and do it before if have major trouble.. truck has always run perfectly...if you have to replace both coolers and head gaskets it will cost you around 4-5 grand..once you get these problems fixed the trucks are good to go.. always use the oem fuel filters and oil filters and change them on schedule.. there are places to order the filters online for a lot less then retail..
For gauges the scangauge 2 is the best for the money it reads everything the obd port reads. Does not do fuel press and egts . eots and ect is the most important to watch. eots will tell you oil cooler condition and that in turn will tell you how the egr cooler is. JMHO
