First Tow
Yesterday, I towed my 14.5 k lb fiver back home from the campground in Wisconsin where it spent the winter. 200 mi trip, half of which was on 2 lane road with plenty of tight curves and steep hills 50-55 on the 2 lane and 65 -68 on the 4 lane. To my suprise, I averaged 10.5 mpg for the trip. Much better than I expected. I was amazed at the operation of the "exhaust brake" and it held the speed to no more 6 or 7 mph over my preset speed of 55. Just had to use the brake a couple of times, once to avoid climbing up a milk trucks butt and the other to avoid some ag equiptment in the middle of the road after I topped hills in both cases.

Man, I tell you. I have almost 48K on mine, 8 out of 10 miles with my truck are towing, range from 6K to 12K in weight, tag along and fifth wheel.
These things are just plain tow monsters. Period. End of story.
It takes the load and lasts a long time (suspension/brakes/driveline/transmission). Great trucks for sure.
