'98 radio display

my radio display in my car goes on and off all of the time, mostly stays off. Ive read threads that tell you that it is fixable, but how do I fix it. I'd appreciate any info.

hi, I also have a 98 and the radio lights go on and off. have found this link havent tried the fix as of yet but heres the link.

BTW, a heavy clothes hanger works great for the special removal tool (don't use the flimsy dry-cleaner ones).

'98 radio display

I had a similar problem with my 98 Limited. Turns out my 3 y.o. slipped coins in the cassette slot. I romoved the radio, took off the case and fished out 47 cents. Works fine now...
