Blinker wiring

Want to thank you all for your help in the past and I am needing some more of that expert advice again.

I have been trying to fix a brake light issue and had purchased a new harness, which was the wrong one, bummer!

Any way, my problem goes to when I first unpluged and removed the harness that came with the truck. I assumed it had the same wireing markings as in the trucks main plug and so I did not take a picture of it how the wires lined up in the plug.

I am now putting the original harness back in the truck for the horn and such but when I went to match the wires with the trucks main plug they were not the same, so How can I get an original wiring skematic so I can try to match up my blinker harness properly? I did figure out the horn, but not sure how the rest of the wires match up.

Thanks for your help

I've got a Chilton's manual that covers Ford Pick-ups from '76 to '86 that has wiring and vacuum diagrams, plus tons more great info. A Ford shop manual would be more detailed, but for most people this one would probably suffice.

The part number for the manual is 8576. ISBN 0-8019-8576-5. I got mine from my local NAPA store. I've also seen them on the shelf at Hasting's Books.

Are you talking about rear light wire colors? I'm a little confused...but maybe this helps.

Brown _ LH and RH Rear Lamp and Marker Lamp, License Lamps (running lights)
Yellow/Black Stripe _ LH Rear Lamp
Solid Green_RH Rear Lamp
Black/Red Stripe_LH and RH Backup lamps

That might help but to be sure we are on the same page. I am taking about the plug that the blinker harness plugs into under the dash by the steering column. Like I mentioned I did figure out the horn wires so I can opperate my horn, I do not know where to begin to hook up the taillights, blinker lights, hazzards etc. I do have a chilton's coming but any other help would be appreciated.
