Edelbrock 1825
Hey all I have a mild 460 in my highboy. Slightly bumpy idle. She has a 460 performer intake, Dove heads, with L&L headers 2.5 out to two super 10's. I can't give cam specs I've lost touch with the guy that built her for me. I am planing on buying a 650cfm 1825 thunder avs off road carb for her. Everything I calculate says 650 cfm is perfect. Some say 750 is great and some say 600 is great. Im thinking 650 cfm is plenty. It should provide good throttle response and breathability over the stock Carter that's on it now. I'm not looking for mileage just good drivability. Just asking for opinions. Thanks.

Running the same set up with what is known as an R.V. cam and after trial and error was not satisfied so I broke down and called Edelbrock, it was like using the instruction for a kids toy after putting it together backwards, and once I listened to what those knowledgable guys had to say it was a "no brainer" 750 was the way to go.
I suggest calling them and listening to them.
One more thing YOU MUST USE A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR
Its a good thing you are not looking for mileage cause it does not exist, but I did improve mine by installing a Gear Vender unit.

Sounds like I need to buy an Edelbrock performer 750 and put in the spring loaded needle seats for off road. I just don't want to suffer from too much carb. Loss of low end power. I know she's a slightly built 460 but I like my low end torque.
