OFF TOPIC tranny question
hey guys,
i know it's not a truck but i got a question
in my 83 cougar, is a foxbody chassis car
am considering swapping a standard into it, but need to know what is the cheapest standard i can throw in that will hold we'll say up to 500 ft lbs?
i could keep it auto and build a c4, could build a t5, but am wondering what will be the cheapest route and best route
can try asking on my cougar forum, but they don't seem to know about other ford stuff like you guys seem to
thanks any ideas are appreciated, unless you're gonna tell me to put in a powerglide, then not appreciated, don't wanna do that.

A T-5/T-18 should work nicely.....Both are easily found tranny's from mustangs...And can be built nicely....Steeda has a crapload of stuff for them....
Just have to find a stang, and get the tranny, and the clutch/brake assembly....
