Engine wont start

Hi ,

I have a 2002 f 150 xlt with the 5.4.

I kinda knew i had a fuel pump going bad cause know and then it took a while before i had fuel pressure to start my truck and sometimes it gave me a code p0232 which means something like fuel pump secondary circuit loaded, dont really remember, anyways to be sure i went over to a dealer and checked it.

So a few hours ago i went to start it. It cranked a bit then it made sort of a weird sound coming from the drivers side. Now the engine wont even turn, instead it seams to be resetting every time i try ( i know cause the dash rolls the tachometers) and the battery makes the dead tic sound. I know this sounds as the battery is obviously dead but it not., I tested it on another truck and i used another trucks battery on mine. Also the negative cable on the battery is really hot.

Could it be i burned the starter? I blew up a fuse?
