installing rear ceiling a/c system e.b. 2006 ?
1. replace my current compressor from single to compressor, W/aux AC
2. I haven't found where the location of condenser is yet
3. I need change one of those pipes connected to tank to the T pipes and I dont know where that one T pipe connects to when I looking my brother exploer cause his has rear a/c
4. install rear evaporator and buy new piping to run to rear evaporator.
what elese would i have to do before i work inside the vehicle within the engine area I have 4.0L v6
I also spoke to someone from another forum who does a/c repair and did this to his minivan that didnt come come with rear a/c.
and this what he recommend to me...
I've never heard of a 2 stage compressor, and I do this for a living. The best thing to do is get the parts from a donor vehicle just like you're going to install them in. You shouldn't have to change the compressor. You might have to replace the condenser if the one you have is to small. Compare it to your donor vehicle. You'll need the lines that got to the rear, the rear evaporator and possibly an orifice tube for the rear. The orifice tube is cheap, get a new one.
someone at explorerforum.com told i need to get 2-stage a/c compressor and when I was looking at ford parts website there are 2 compressor avaliable one with no aux and w/ aux so i am guessing the compress with w/aux is the 2 stage compressor and turns on the other components of the compressor when the switch on the ceiling is turned on.
thanks everyone for your input
