Rear disc brakes

A buddy of mine says that he had read somewhere that rear disc brakes of an explorer worked on the 9 inch. Has anyone heard this or any alternatives? Is it better just to buy a kit?

Exploders are 5x4.5" lug pattern. Depending on what your 9" is out of/on the lug pattern is most likely different.

Do a google search for Currie Enterprises - they have kits using the exploder disks on a 9"
