Brake line question

I am going to post this here and in the brake section. Does anyone know the size including the fitting for the rear brake line on a 1986 F350 CC DRW pickup? This is the line down the frame from the differential pressure (failure warning) switch on the frame to the pressure regulator valve above the rear axle. I know it was originally a metric size, but I had a rusted portion of it break years ago while on a campout in Gloucester County on a weekend. Ever tried to find something like that in a predominantly rural area on a Saturday? As a result, I no longer have the original line to go from. Thanks,

FWIW my F-150 used 3/16" lines. So I'm kind of surprised yours are metric. Any chance you can get at the old ones with a pair of calipers?

I can check the front portion of the old one, the crew cab uses a 2 piece rear brake line. Looking at the connection, and thinking back, first the front part is slightly larger than the rear, and second, I remember having to buy two adapters, one female from metric to 3/16" inverted flare and one male/female from 3/16" inverted flare female to metric inverted flare male.

that conversion stuff sounds pretty *** backwards. any chance a PO didn't know what he was doing and threw metric stuff on there by mistake?

No, it wass definately original. I have owned the truck since April 1994 and the PO had all his work done at a Ford dealer in Gordonsville VA. From what I found Ford apparently changed to metric on the rear of the duallys when the 10.25" rear was introduced in 1985. This only was used on the pickups at that time. The shop I do some part-time work for had a 1986 F350 wrecker and it had a Dana rear in it.
