Didn't get running boards on my new 2002 F250 diesel because I saw on TV these retracable stirrup like thing that goes out when you open the door and retracts when you close it. I have called a few places but noone seems to have them in my area. Does anyone know of these and where you can find them? Thanks Dondiesel
I don't know what part of the country you're from, but on the west coast, there's a string of 4X4 shops called Billy Bob's Offroad. I was in one of their shops and saw them there.
I think you are talking about the kind available on the new Lincoln Navigator as a factory option. My mom actually just bought a 2003 and her's has the power running boards. I am sure you could get a set from a local dealership and get them to work on your truck....
I think you're talking about these ones located here Retractable running boards! They just came out, and I'd imagine they'd charge out the ying yang :-staun

My wife bought a set of Kodiaks for her Super Duty after I made the mistake of pointing them out, I didn't think they were nearly as hard to install as dealers told me, but then I have done a lot of similar work and I have all of the tools, A minor change I made was in the wiring was that I fished the wire in the loom across throgh the body over the tranny and ran one wire up to the power, They work great, kinda cool. The roll alongs weren't available when my wife got the Kodiaks but from what I've seen they work like the ones ford has as a factory option, I'm watching for a set that someone has so I can see them up close If they are really nice maybe I'll get them for her super duty and put the Kodiaks on my truck, my truck is just a standard cab 84 4x4 F150.
Shop around My wife found the best deal on line, some charge way too much.
As far as the AMPs go I haven't found anyone who knows them yet.
