I just did the high temp side and it took right around 3 1/2 gallons of anti-freeze. This was then added with 3 1/2 gallons of distilled water, so about seven gallons that I drained out. I do have a test kit but did it for peace of mind.

6.7L Special
Initial change 60,000 miles or 2400 hours of engine
operation; subsequent changes every 45,000 miles or
1800 hours
As fast as you put on 10,000 miles, you would have been due for a change soon anyways.
The coolant concentration should be maintained at 50/50 mix of Motorcraft® Specialty Orange Engine Coolant VC-3-B (U.S.) / CVC-3-B
(Can.) or specification number WSS-M97B44-D and distilled water. The level of coolant should be maintained at the "COLD FILL" range
in the coolant reservoir. If you suspect any coolant system leaks or lack of cooling, pressure test the cooling system. Refer to your Owner
Guide for additional information.
Engine coolant system strength (carboxylates) should be checked and serviced at the mileage or equivalent hour intervals specified by the
vehicle's message center and maintenance schedule. Check coolant strength using the Rotunda Antifreeze Test Strip kit to determine if
additive is required (Rotunda Antifreeze Coolant ELC Contamination Kit# 328-00008). If the carboxylate strength is too low add one bottle
of Motorcraft® Specialty Orange Engine Coolant Revitalizer , VC-12 or equivalent. The coolant can be recharged with this additive up to
two times before the cooling system must be flushed and refilled – Do not add Supplemental Coolant Additive if flush & refill is required.

Do you drain it out from the lower radiator hose? I don't see any drain bolt on the engine bolt. How long does it take to finish the process?
I took mine in this morning for this message (12,300 miles) and the service manager told me the same thing as he reset the message.
Some one give me a step by step to kill the message?
I can't find a "screen" that says coolant. I checked high and low for a coolant setting. I found the oil life one. Maybe I'm missing something.
I keep getting the "check engine coolant additive" message..PIA.
I thought that I read that the coolant was good to over 100k. In severe duty I can see the 60k service. Xxtra, It took around a half an hour to drain thru the pitcock on the drivers side. Now I'm wondering if I should do the low temp. side. Maybe at 60k.

Go to settings/vehicle/maintenance/coolant/ then press and hold OK to reset.

Yes, 105,000 miles for "normal" duty.
It doesn't seem to take much to knock us out of the "normal" duty.
But Ford doesn't exactly specify specific details other than 1 hr of idle is equal to 25 miles or what's discussed in this scanned image.
Using coolant other than Motorcraft® Specialty Orange Engine Coolant will cause a nightmare for you.
We've been told here you can only use Motorcraft® Specialty Orange Engine Coolant and the manual states this in multiple places within the diesel engine book also.
You have it wrong. $75.00 for a kit that will last the life of your truck vs. You saying to change the coolany every 16,000 miles. Plus the peace of mind knowing my coolant was checked right is well worth my $75. Just my 2 cents. Now I have a total of $75.02 invested in coolant testing.
I'll state again, coolant systems are very very important to this truck..... Just as important as your oil.
Received both of my kits today.
Thanks for the information.
Just another important part of the truck I can keep an eye on.

Recieved mine yesterday and did the check today. We were busy so I could not do a video or write up. I might just do it again soon to do a video. Those directions are crazy hard. Its like your mixing rocket fuel. Anybody know if you have to check both the coolant systems? And where are the locations for both of those? My coolant checked ok.
Forgot to point out both kits do have expiration dates.
Mine are JAN 2013.
Seems mine will expire before I use them all since I don't currently drive more than 20,000 a year (I'll actualy only make it to less than 17,000 by the end of the month (12 mo)).
Yes, there are a lot of steps.
The 328-00001 bottle comes with instructions for both the Premium Gold (6.4L?) and our 6.7L Specialty orange.
On the box it states "keep it cool!", does it mean room temp or somewhere colder?

Reason: Added the note about both instructions...

Well start a 2011 F- Super Duty coolant check station at your house
Charge about $75 a check... that seems to be the going rate.
