Hood Question?

Hood Question?
Has anyone had the foam or glue that is between the hood and the hood frame fall out? I have got 3 places in the middle part of hood frame that have fallen out. Called the dealer and they told me that it is there just to keep the hood away from the hood frame 
I think he may be wrong as the frame is there to hold the hood in place?

I had 2 places where the foam had separated from the hood and stayed stuck to the support. I had them reapply the foam and they repainted the area. That foam is an adhesive the connects the hood to the support frame under it. Without that connection the hood is not adequately supported.

I just picked up a couple tubes of high temp automotive silicone and filled the gaps myself. Five minutes and done. Now the hood no longer flexes when I go through the car wash blowers.
