I`ve had peple try and do that behind my trailer in everything from minivans to little Hondas. I`m glad that I have a camera on the back of my trailer so I can see just where they are at. they don`t like it very much when I slow down to 53mph. thta`s when they pull out and go around me. the last time it happened was on our way back from the Smoky`s. I get terrible mileage as it is, I`m not pulling someone else too.
DO NOT FOLLOW ANYONE THAT CLOSE EVER! you cannot see what is going on in front of the vehicle you are tailgating.

I have people try to draft off me when I'm just driving my F250! Empty, no trailer, but they want to crawl up on me and hover there. 53 works pretty good to "shake them loose". I'll "draft" at about 100' back from a semi, because that's where I'm comfortable. To each their own.

That would be nice to have! How is that wired? With just a RC plug out the back door? I am looking to put dvd/navigation in the dash of my X this summer and want a back up camera (already have the camera) on the back of the X to see when I am backing up to trailers. If I could set up one on the back of the camper that would be very nice for backing into camping spots and just knowing whats back there when backing up.

I have both cameras also. My hitch cam is wireless and my rear trailer cam is hard-wired. The feed wires are bundled with the trailer harness at the hitch. The wires on the Ex are just zip tied next to the trailer plug. There are two wires for the camera connection. One power wire and one quick connect for the video feed.
I put the trailer cam on the rear ladder at the top, and ran the wires down the ladder rails to under the camper. Pretty easy install. Both cams are night vision cams and work very well in low or no light.
Edit---I ran the wires for the trailer cam from under the dash down the drivers side under the plastic trim. Behind the 3rd row bench I went under the carpet and spare tire carrier to one of the grommets in the floor pan. I just pulled the wire to the trailer connector under the rear bumper and zip tied it there. It's fairly well protected from the elements and is an easy connection to the wires coming from the trailer.

Reason: added portion about excursion wiring
My wife got me one of the last "wired" VR3 cameras from Pepboys years ago. I just cut the camera wire and extended it so I could mount it on the rear of the trailer just a little higher than 1/2 way up the wall. I mounted it so that it clips in under the siding. Yes the screen is a little small, but it`s better than the view I had before, which was nothing!

Just installed the trailer camera in place of the top center running light. Used the hole that was left behind from the light to fish the cable through. I ran the cable to the front of the trailer in the underbelly. On the Ex the camera has a 4 pt DIN connection that screws together for a nice tight connection. I left this connection right next to the trailer connection. When I hook the trailer I just unplug the Ex camera and plug in the trailer camera. I have a Kenwood DNX8120 DVD/Nav deck that shows the rear camera any time it is in reverse or if you simply hold a button for 2 seconds. Works great. We have a 300' drive way that winds in around some trees. I usually back down the drive as it is faster than turning around at the end. With the camera it is simple to back in the dark as it works very well day or night. Makes hooking up the trailer simple also.
That first camera is kinda like the one I got but it is more square. It had a license plate mount on it but I removed the mount and everything else it didn't need. I will be mounting it next to the rear glass latch handle by drilling a hole threw the molding. Either that or up by the 3rd brake light.
Thanks for the trailer camera link. Would be nice to not have to cut the camera wire if I don't have to.
Since I pull a boat behind the TT it would also be nice with the camera so I can check in on the boat now and then while traveling because as of now I don't see it at all unless I am turning a corner.
