Anybody wanna volunteer to come replace plugs on my '99? I will supply the beer and music? Lol, c'mon, somebody wants to, I just know it.
I myself dont have an issue with doing them, I dont see the problem that many complain about. I have a 98 with the twin coil setup and I had a 99 with the cop's and had no problem in doing either style. If I lived in your area, I would be happy to lend a hand.
use the right extensions, rope to pull all the hoses out of the way and you are good to go. The first time will take you 6-8 hours and a few sharp words, the second time maybe 3 hours and some laughs. practice makes perfect.

On my 98 4.6 with the twin coil setup, it took me little less than 2 hours to do the spark plug change on my first go at it. If I were to say any one gave me an issue, I would say it would of been the # 8 , every other one was nothing at all. Maybe the engines with the c.o.p. will take longer, but I dont know. When I completed my first spark plug change on this vehicle, I was alittle worried at first for I heard everything from it taking 4 to 8 hours but yet doing it less than 2. I went and double checked just about everything to make sure I didnt over look something, I now have about 10k miles on these plugs with no issues. I do feel sorry for ones that do have issues with this job.
The 5.4L engine has coil-paks on each spark plug. It's a very different kettle of fish than the twin-coil the 4.6 liter engine. Extensions-R-us for coil, spark plug, and injector maintenance... along with a liberal cursing of the engineering that led to that configuration.
