Extra Spring on Carburetor

I pulled a classic stupid mistake. I Pulled my carb to rebuild it, and am now putting it back together. I have everything installed, but have an extra spring. It's been a couple weeks since I removed it and can't figure out where it goes. Does anyone have a photo or diagram of a stock 4180 carb installed? I have an F250 with a 460. Automatic, w/cruise. All stock. Thanks.

Welcome to FTE

There are two coil springs, one behind the other. The second (rearmost) spring attaches to a bracket that bolts to the intake manifold, then forward to the carb linkage.

Confusing, ain't it....that's why a pic is needed.

Illustrated here: 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Illustration Section 97, Page 8 -lower pic.

FTE member Mikeo0o0o0 has this catalog on a CD, can scan and post pics. It's difficult to explain without a bunch of rigamarole, so you should look at this pic.

This parts catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.
