Getting Feedback

1.) Brand new model.... takes a while for new model years to have performance parts available
2.) Brand new motor... a lot of R&D is needed when any new motor is brought online. Exhaust guys need to get trucks in their hands just to start basic fitment. Tuner guys need like a year or so to find all of the available computer code variations, etc.
I'd say just relax, and enjoy the truck as is for right now, and dont worry too much about it. Does it not have enough power for you? Hows the mpg?
The truck runs great ,matter of fact it reminds me of some of my old muscle cars I use to own.It has awsome power even with the 3:55 and the fuel is climbing up to the 18 mpg mark so not really complaining there,
I was just curious about any add on's. I had an 08 F250 SD and bought a Super Chip programmer for it and it didn't seem to help much so, I appreciate the advice. makes sense. I once again appreciate the feedback and I will just put some miles on it and wait and see what R&D comes up with.
Thanks
Chuck
If your not towing heavy, the 5.0L and the 3.55 axle combo is a great fit. As stated above, enjoy the truck.
Remember that mileage should continue to increase slightly as the motor breaks in further. You might see some gains after your first oil chainge too, once the break in oil is removed and replaced with a good semi-synthetic.
5 Star Tuning acquired a 5.0L XL truck a few months back. Mike has done some pretty good things with that motor. If you're interested in a tuner, I would highly suggest Mike's custom built tunes. Also, you're in South TN right? Mike Butler is in S. Carolina somewhere. Maybe you're just a few hours from him. He also does dyno tuning.
Give Mike a call or shoot him an email if you have any questions.

Here's the link to Mike's thread about the truck he's tuning for his own use:

One more piece...don't rely on the lie-o-meter. Track your fuel mileage using miles driven and gas used (you really need to fill up each time).
Since you have access to the Internet, I'd suggest Fuelly.com.

They have a mobile site that you can access via smartphone that really makes the mileage tracking that much more easy. I enjoy using it, and seeing if I can beat the mileage from fillup to fillup. A little game that saves me money in the long run.
