Whats it worth

Ok so I have a 1979 Ford F350 1 ton 4x4 that I have been thinking about selling.
I just got it painted a couple of months ago,

It has been my daily drive for a year now, its time to find something a little more economical,
if I could afford to get another vehicle and keep this I would, but it's not in the cards, anyway I am thinking of may be doing a trade for a jeep.

I think I know what this truck is worth but I thought I would ask your option, I'm thinking around $9,000

Built 400 V8 Edelbroc carb 4 barrel, headers with new flow masters
automatic tranny
4 " Alcon lift on new 35" tires & rims

Thanks Guys

well im not sure where your from but im from michigan and if you were selling it here you probly wouldnt get what your lookin for. if its rust free and the interior is in good shape i would look to get about 5,000 or a little more. but your area can have a big impact on it.

to accurately gauge value, pictures, and parts list would be very helpful.

However Ill say this.

You see "restored" crewcabs with new paint and a mild lift for 15k all day long...and they never sell.

You see 4x4 dents with new paint and a mild lift for 10k all day long

you see 2wd dents with new paint and shiny rims for 8-12k all day long

BUT just because people are asking that doesnt mean people are buying them for that. The local pick and pull has a dually crew cab thats savable but barely and want like 1k with title another guy has a crewcab on cl with no title and in about as bad as shape. for 3.5k.....hopefully you get the idea. if not some people feel what they have is worth more than it is, but it boils down to what people are willing to pay.

Im not trying to rain on your parade but you see fairly rust free dents for 2-5k often and most have some sort of motor work done.

9k would be hard to justify no offense but I expect a TON for a old *** vehicle like these. So hopefully you can take this with a grain of salt. Maybe your dent is one of the rare ones that are actually worth that 9kish but more info would be needed, thats for sure.

You're correct, the '79 F350 4x4 is a one year only truck, while i wouldn't go as far to call it "rare" its production numbers certainly weren't very high, if i recall correctly only around 15,000 were produced (give or take), it's just a matter of finding the right buyer at the right time, on ebay your truck would sell anywhere from 7-10K in my opinion, (the front D60 alone tacks on nearly 2K in value).
