hesitating??????

Ok i have a 1995 F250 4x4 351 Manual. It has been hesitating for a while now. I'm not sure what it could be. It seems worse on wet days so i thought it could be my dist. cap and rotor button. I replaced both and it made no difference at all. It feels like it isn't getting enough gas at times but the wet weather thing made me think electrical. My front tank has a bad fuel pump in it (i plan on replacing very soon) so i am forced to use the rear tank. I just receiently replaced the rear tank but this problem has persisted for a long time. I need some help here. Oh, and if it hesitates and i press the clutch down and rev it, it sounds great so i kinda ruled out the tranny slipping. Clutch kit has about 10000 on it and im not rough on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Fuel filter? Could be gummed up enough to not deliver enough fuel quickly enough when under load. Don't know how that would effect the free rev situation though.

Thanks guys....I thought about the fuel filter but as you did i ruled it out because of the free revving My plugs and wires are about five years old now so i guess i should change them too. wouldn't the truck miss and all this when i just rev it out of gear??? i guess everything changes when you put a load on it. I just don't want to put a lot of money into it trying to figure it out. Moneys tight got a baby on the way!

Thanks for the quick reply. i really appreciate it.

I would think so, unless they're just on the edge of being shot so the added stress of the load is just enough to keep them from working right. But that's just me thinking out loud. Did you ever pull codes? Maybe a bad TPS or something causing a lagging issue?

Codes don't always trip the light. My light actually seems to be burnt out as a code reader was the only thing that'd work. If you have an Advanced Auto or O'Reily's nearby you can pull them yourself for free. I just had to give them my driver's license as collateral.

I'm sure they can help you out. The scanner I used had step-by-step instructions on the screen.
