interchanging question 50 to 47

Lee,
The F1 thru F6 cabs are the same, and F2 thru F6 fenders, etc. are the same.

Trouble is, the 47 is a different body style - lines are different, fenders are different, in fact I don't know of anything that is the same between the two. It breaks down like this:

42-47 same parts
48-50 same parts
48-52 same cab, different fender/grills
51-52 same parts only trim differences

interchanging question 50 to 47

What does your VIN prefix look like?
47 will be 71GC (6cyl) or 799C (8cyl).
48 will be 87HC (6cyl) or 88RC (8cyl)
49/50 will be 97HC or 98RC respectively

Check out the picture gallery for the differences between the two. The 42-47's have vertical grill bars and on 48-50's they are horizontal.

It's possible someone changed the whole front clip, but it should be obvious in places I think.

The '42-47s had vertical bars, the '48-50s had horizontal. The F series cabs can be told appart by the lack of the side deco-thing that travels down the side of hood and around the cab. Also the '40-41 cabs are the same as the '42-47.
