96 E250 has a lot of miles. At 317,000 but the engine was replaced at some point. It's the 5.8L engine. Just drove it across the US straight. Got a slight studder problem when low rpm or at idle. Got codes at advance auto they didn't give me numbers just descriptions:
o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1
pw sensor bank 2 sensor 2
EGR flo insufficient
DPFE monitor low voltage
Thought I could clean out egr valve but it turns out I don't have 1. At least I don't see it. Manual says up to 96 I should have 1 and 97 or later has dpfe. I see the dpfe so maybe it's 97(the sticker on door says 96)
Question: What do I do with DPFE monitor? Do I just replace it? Can I just clean it? Any ideas for a rookie with a comp and a manual?
figured out the problem. Relaced the dpfe and say the ref line was clogged. cleaned the 3 in rubber hose from the metal line to the dpfe and then got called to work so I couldn't take the rest off to clean. I'm pretty sure that lack of air in reference line is making comuter put extra air into the engine making a lean mixture.
Any tips or ideas on cleaning out the line. Any tricks to doing it without taking it off the exhaust manifold?
