Alright, it's been 3 months and I'm already fed up with dealing with the puny single side tank on my dual tank truck.
The rear tank fills the front so I just use the front and the back is totally empty right now.
So, I've seen selector valves at rock auto and stuff which I'd like to get but I have no stinking idea where this valve is in relation to the tanks. I *think* I found it but it looks like a female dog to get to. It's in between the tanks along frame rail? I followed the fuel lines and they all end up at that device. Unless that device is the dual reservoir? Does anybody have pictures or schematic diagram under these trucks?
An external selector valve was not used after about 1989. The switching is done with a shuttle valve in the fuel delivery module inside each tank. Since the fuel is going into the front tank from the rear, you will need to replace the front tank FDM to correct the cross-flow issue.
I missed the truck details in the OPs signature! Sorry about that. Eric is 100% correct, no external fuel selector valve on your truck if it is a 1993.
