On my way home from work to today i noticed a vibration after speeding up and then letting off, I can really feel it in the stick shift... it seem to be not as bad when the hub are unlocked, but still slightly vibrates , any ideas ???

 

I noticed my shifter vibration today as well but I was doing about 70 mph hauling by boat. Did you come up with any ideas?

 

heres a thought... your holding something thats directly connected to your drivetrain. just sayin...

 

So simple, yet such a classic...

 

U-joints. Check and grease, see if it goes away or at least seems to quit vibrating as bad. If so, the grease may be a temporary fix, but more likely than not the u-joints are on their way to that big scrap yard in the sky.

 

ive never owned a stickshift where the shifter doesnt vibrate... its completely normal

It was an abnormal vibration, Ive had a 5 speed my whole life and I heavy haul for a living ....believe me it was abnormal

 

isolate the vibration... put it up on jackstands and run the truck... If it starts vibrating you know it's a driveline problem. Then disconnect the driveshaft and inspect the u-joints if they don't look terrible, run the truck back up to 30-50 mph on the jack stands again and see if vibration persists. If it does you have a clutch/tranny problem. If it doesn't persist you have a drive line proble behind the tranny somewhere.
