A single, loud hard shift
Pulling our camper this past weekend I had just crested a hill and was easing off the throttle a little when the transmission shifted so loud and hard that my wife even noticed it. That occurred about 10 miles into our trip. It was one lone, single, hard shift never to be repeated the rest of the trip (this the first hard shift the truck ever had at all). The truck performed flawlessly the rest of trip pulling the camper, about 400 miles total, through the Blue Ridge mountains and Appalachians. So it got a good work out for sure! The truck is a 2010 F-250, 5.4, 4:10 LS, 5 speed Torqshift. The trailer weighs about 7,000 lb. The truck has about 6,000 miles on it, mostly pulling this camper.
Any informed opinions as to whether this is something be concerned about would be much appreciated. Or just continue driving it and see if it occurs again?
