Ravelco uses a specific plug that can have who knows how many combos. The connection in the cab is armored. Black wires that go into the engine harness.

Then under the hood to disrupt circuits. Trouble is you can't just trace them and then be able to start it. You can't just take the wires under the dash and put them together either.

You can get replacement plugs as well. It is an ordeal. I thought I had lost one. I almost had to give my first born to get a replacement. I liked that about them as well.

That totally sucks!!! I read about another theft last month in the 6.0 forum and got my Ravelco quote. $419 installed. Sorry about your truck. I second the motion to fight for a new one. You'll never know how it was driven. You'll learn to love again. Good luck.

Thanks everyone - I'm a bit anxious about tomorrow, I know that I really don't want her back. That story about the pee just did it for me, and if they did **** in her I hope it was from fear while they were being chased!

Of course, I'll replace her with kind, or maybe even upgrade a year or two. Those of y'all with '08 models, anything in particular I should look for or know about when shopping?

Besides a security system, that is.

My question is can the Ravelco be wired to retain your remote start or does the installation not effect it.

2 Horses, sorry buddy!!! I was there myself. Mine was stollen from San Diego airport when I was gone for a few days on military duty. What sucked was that I had it payed off and didn't get very much insurance money to go out and get a replacement. You will get over it but that violated feeling sticks with you for a long time.

It's not just south texas! I Live in S. Az and we have the same problem. Any f250 or 350 with 4x is targeted. 2 of my buddies, within a couple miles of my place, had their trucks stolen within a couple months of each other. Both found in the desert trashed.

My 2006 was taken from my church parking lot in Houston and used for the same thing. They found it by Poteet, TX. They had run it through some barbed wire and all of the panels were scratched. The insurance adjuster totaled it and I got a good replacement. Hope you have the same service with your company.

Good Grief, in a parking lot full of cameras even!!! I hope they treat you good and get you hooked up with a new ride. Its too bad you couldnt train killer scorpions, don't eat much and are really quiet.

When you start shopping, keep in mind that anything 08 and up is going to have the DPF on it. So more emissions. I get along with it just fine. You need to take into account how you use the truck and consider that in your purchase.

Real short commutes will not be too kind to a 08 and up model. Towing, long drives will be just fine.

How big are these plugs that you have to carry in your pocket?

A magnetic tether switch would be neat as well. Stick it inside the 12V plug on the back of the center console and no one would ever know.
