$4.15 in Kent county Delaware, have seen $4.59 in the northern part of the state
I hope obama doesn't look into it too hard, it might go up another dollar
It's times like these, just like back in '08, where I can reap just one of the benefits of a commitment I made several years ago to make my own fuel.
The cost of methanol has gone up a bit recently bringing the cost of my biodiesel to $.85/gallon. Don't mean to gloat.......well, maybe just a little bit, but I have to admit that it's pretty darned satisfying fueling up in my own driveway and not being forced to stop at places like the one pictured above.

Please do explain a bit more. Any good resources you can recommend on where to learn how to make your own fuel and where to buy the equipment?

Please know that I make biodiesel for many reasons, and that the raw cost savings over pump#2 is just one side benefit. It is a time consuming commitment which is complex, but not complicated. It requires space, time, and patience. Most of us that have been doing it for a long time have fabricated our own reactors and wash equipment. That being said, here's a couple links to some good reading on the subject.
Seams to have stabled out for a few weeks now here at $4.37 this is the lowest I have found it locally. I am planning a road trip cross county next month so I will be watching this thread close.
Yup. Other than natural gas pricing, I'm not quite sure yet what is responsible for the pricing lately. My last 55 gallon drum was a bit over $200. It wasn't more than a couple months ago I paid $160. It's almost as if someone has caught on to the homebrewers and is looking for a way to stick it to us. But I realize that's not the case since there's not nearly enough of us to make a difference.
it sure seems that way. racing shops ream people @ $15/gallon. we used to be able to get is from local oilfield supply shops at a really good price, but they are all asking ~$300 now.
at that price, that would bring the total brew cost close to $2/gallon.
