Hey what do you guys think about this leveling kit for $90 with free shipping?
Do you need anything else to correctly level a 2001 F350?
I read on some other threads that with the mini spring packs you do not have to change your front shocks. I plan on ordering some new heavy duty bilsteins, had them in my old 94 and loved em!
What do you guys think overall? Or would you suggest another kit??
Wheres it at??? Not sure what Sanderson's metal fabrication is charging for his kits but his shackle kits run in the 30.00 range. Spring packs are the most desired but my shackles have been great the last 2 years or more, check them out on E-Bay.
Looks like a deal to me. You may want to research further though, I've read some fabricators use a less than desireable steel in the making. Just some food for thought. Stick around, more folks will weight in their opinions.
i bought a set of 5.5" shackles from advance. really nothing more than flat bar with holes drilled but they have held up good. 20$ i figure if they can handle the roads/interstate in La. they can hold up to about anything
Ya I mean I am sure they will hold up alright. My truck is just my DD, to and from work. Yes I do use it on the weekends for towing and such, but nothing crazy.
Can anyone tell me if I lift it 2 inches with these mini leaf packs if I will need to change any suspension or steering components?
the fuzzy picture and no close ups of the product.... i dunno.. the second one posted, with a satisfied customer to boot... seems like the ticket to me.
Big Al man thanks for the link! I agree with bluescrew, that other one may not be as good as quality as the one you got. Plus if you are happy with it, then I am sure I will be as well.
Do you think though that 2.7 inches may raise the front too much? And make it higher in the front then the back??
Thanks for all your input guys, its very much appreciated over here.
Dennis
I used ones like these. Ive had them installed for a year now. They work good with no problems and there are no other suspension modifications needed. The 2.7 levels the truck just fine.
Did the Sanderson lift two + years ago. Maybe I'm a bone head but this was a PITA. Once you pop the axel alignment pin loose from the bottom of the stock leaf springs everything went south. Had jacks and cargo straps going everywhere getting it aligned back up. Good luck.
Oh, it leveled the front up with the back. Me likey.
Another trick I learned is to cut one leg of the U bolt off just a bit, that way you can get one through the baseplate then work on the other.
Well I went ahead and ordered the kit that Big Al recommended. Ordered it last night around 10:30 pm and it shipped by 8 o'clock this morning. So I am sure I will have it by Friday so I can put it in this weekend.
I also went ahead and ordered 4 new Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks.
Once again Big Al thank you for input, and hopefully everything goes smooth.
Ill be sure to post before and after pics.
Stanley thats great. I am super excited to get the kit installed. What size tires do you run? Right now I have 285/75/16 and might go bigger, I am on the fence about it. Don't want to go bigger and kill my MPG's
