2004 f150 Cranks But Wont Start
I have a 2004 f150 Heritage (old body) 4.6L 160k on it. I drove it to work one day and 10 hours later when I went to start it, it cranks but wont start. The Ford garage said they thought it was hit by lightning because some of the modules weren't communicating with there computer and said they would have to start testing wires to find the problem. I stopped there because I didn't wont to rack up a bill more than the truck is worth.
So here's where I am now.
The truck turns over but wont start. It does however run "while" you are spraying starter fluid in the air intake. I've changed the fuel pump (and it does prime) and fuel filter. Changed cam sensor. Swapped some relays (never tried new ones just swapped around the ones that were the same).
They think the main computer is working because it is giving its 5 volts to each module they just don't know which modules are not working or if there are wires broke somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions???

When the engine seems to run while spraying ether into the intake that tends to mean there's no fuel getting into the cylinders. My '03 E250's fuel pump failed so it had to be limped back into a garage with one guy squirting starting fluid into the intake housing, air filter removed.
Have you checked the actual fuel pressure at the rail while the engine is cranking? That might tell you a lot.
BTW I'd think if lightening struck your truck you'd have almost no electrical power or function at all. Do the lights, radio, wipers, blower motor etc etc work still?
