I need some advice, the carb on my 40o (I believe its a motorcraft 2 bbl) needs some adjustments the truck is notrunning too well. When it warms up and i gun it the motor bogs out then starts to go. I know where the gas/fuel mix is and the idle speed and there is one other adjustment screw that i am not sure about underneath the front of the carb. Anyonehave any ideas on a good starting point for these setting so i can get it running well enough to take it over to draggins today hopefully. lol
Unless someone here jumps in soon re post this in the FTE ''Fuel Injection, Carburetion & Fuel System'', click on this link Fuel Injection, Carburetion & Fuel System - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
I usually just buy a rebuilt 2 bbl carb from Swift Filtration in Saskatoon/651-3289, for about $160 I get a sweet ready to use carb.
Believe it or not with Motocrap carbs my best luck has always been to take off the automaticchoke and put on a mechanical system. My old 1975 360 did that for years. Finally swapped out choke and it smartened up.
