Recently I noticed a vibration when doing a u-turn in my truck that I never remembered having before. It doesn't matter if I am turning left or right I get the same vibration. I don't have to be lock to lock but close to notice it and it's suttle. It reminds me of a rumble strip on the side of the road but obviously no where near as pronounced. You can't hear it but I can feel it via the Steering wheel. Is this normal for a 4x4 or is my u-joints taking a crap? Truck has 82K on it.
Hate to add in on thread but was just bout to post question wit a vibration. Few times (just in morning) when goin down hiway truck has a vibration. Kinda like grease fitting need lubed. Don't feel in steering but thoughout truck. But ONLY does for bout 1/4 mile then goes away. Also other issue when turning sounds like truck is stressing. Kinda like popping it back so to say.
My hubs shouldn't be locked. I have auto lock hubs I think they call it where its either locked or auto. Definitely will check including ps
that auto and lock hub is so you can still lock it in 4x4 if the auto will not lock it in [ in case of vacum leak or it get junk in there and cant lock
on its own]
