Front brakes

Anyone know where to purchase brake rotors for a 1986 F/S bronco. I have checked almost all parts places and they are all showing a different rotor assembly (I think what is shown is for the bronco ll), mine has rotor/hub assembly and the prices listed seem to be all over the board.

If you know where which brand would you recommend? Thanks, Mark

I got mine for a 1995 Bronco at Rockauto.com

Same front brakes as an F-150 if that helps.

You can spend the money on the assembly OR you can just replace the rotor but you have to separate it from the hub by removing the wheel studs. Its not a difficult process, but you want to make sure that when you drive out the wheel studs that you don't mushroom them over or they won't pass through the holes in the rotor or the hub. Buying just the rotor is cheaper but requires a bit more work to separate the old ones from the hubs. Re-assemble by putting new studs (recommended) in and using a spacer and the wheel nuts to draw the studs back into the hub until they are seated.

Thanks, I had no idea that they were a 2 piece assembly they appeared to be all one guess I will take a closer look and go from there.

I used a Half inch socket for a spacer when I reassembled my rotors . I also threaded the lugnuts on the end of the studs to stop the threads from getting messed up. Putting some PB Breakloose on the studs prior to dissasembly helps also.
