Escape Hybrid anchor points

Hello, I'm moving to Colorado (military) and am shipping my wifes Escape Hybrid from AK to Dallas. I will be hauling it from Dallas to Colorado on a 16 foot utility trailer. My question is where are the tie down or "anchor" points so it doesn't roll on the trailer while I'm pulling it? I see the two up front but can't find any in the back. Any ideas?

Thanks

H

H, it would probably help someone responding if you listed the model year. There were body design changes for 2008, and more changes (powertrain/suspension related) in 2009.

RTJ Hooks

Well, I've determined that I need RTJ hooks to secure the vehicle but still clueless as to where to hook them to. I've crawled under the vehicle and found a couple of spots I think where they go. Anyone have any ideas yet?

My 2005 has three factory installed "tow hooks", one on each side in the front and one on the back.(there is no hook and the exhaust side. I am assuming that those would be sufficient.

Dan, I saw the two up front. They each have two holes in them but i can't seem to find anything underneath in the back. I thought maybe the car haulers would use the two up front to secure the car but that just doesn't seem right. I thought maybe they'd use two holes for front tie downs and the lower two holes for straps or chains to the rear but this would only prevent front and rear lateral movement. There would be nothing to keep the back wheels from bouncing in the air. I'm gonna try these RTJ hooks and see what happens. I'll post pics when I get it figured out.

Thanks,
H

You want to either strap the unsprung axles down or you want to cinch the body down and compress the suspension as much as you can. I would probably use a couple of axle straps and find something to loop them around and then use a ratchet strap.
