Has anyone ever installed longer lift supports for the hood? It would be nice to have a bit more lift to allow more light in while working in the diesel. Only problem is it might get hard to grab and close the hood.

Snapped off and on with just a small flat scewdriver.

I can barely reach my hood as is(and i'm 6'4"). Don't think that would be a good idea for me to attempt that.

I'm 6' and have 2wd... I can only reach the metal loop part of the hood, i think it's what the safety release holds on to.

Be crazy to have a pull rope hanging down, it would probably find it's way around the serpentine belt and pulleys and be an expensive leason.

I'm only 5'9" with a 4" lift and I can barely reach the front of the hood fully open. Just walk to the side and pull down on it where you can reach.
The hinges keep the hood level and you can still keep it from slamming too hard. Works great!
