My Aero will not start, when primed with either starter fluid or gas she sputter and attemps to run. Her entire ignition system was relaced a couple of months ago (spark plugs thru coil, spark control mod, and distributor) by my replace it all mechanic? This time I am attempting to resolve what seem like a simple fix (but is anything but) myself. First I relaced the fuel pump relay, then the inline (undercarage)fuel filter, and now the fuel pump (BTW I tested the old pump> after replacing it> and it ran fine> bummer). It still does not start and does not appear to be getting fuel. I hot wired the new fuel pump (at the relay) and the pump runs just fine but no gas to the throttle body as yet. I have located the emergency shut off sensor and visulally inspected it and it does not apprear to be "popped" (I,ve read they pop up when blown). What else can be causing this issue? I am out of work and need this car to do "Day Labor" to make ends meet. PLEASE HELP! Thank you.
I'm guessing your engine uses throttle body injection? There should be a Schrader valve on the pressurized side of the line going to the injectors. It looks like a tire valve. For a quick test, you should be able to carefully poke at the center pin of the valve core and get a spray of fuel. For a better test, you need to install a pressure gauge on that valve to see what pressure build up when the fuel pump is running. It's normally around 40 psi. It you don't get that, it's possible that the pressure regulator is not working. It bypasses excess fuel back to the tank, and may be bypassing all the fuel back to the tank, although that's unlikely.
It's also possible that your fuel injectors are clogged. You can try to hot wire them to see if they spray into the throttle when the fuel pump is running. If they're clogged, the only way to clean them out would be to pull them and reverse flush them with carb or injector cleaner. You will need to spray the cleaner from the pintle end while activating them with a battery. I had to do this once with my SEFI system, which required removing the intake manifold. But they worked much better afterward. Your two injectors on the throttle body should be much easier to remove.
You must remember when doing any of these things that you are working with highly inflammable liquids. Be careful not to start a fire, but keep an extinguisher nearby just in case.
